It’s weird, but a fact that fingertips often feel the fury of the cold, even when gloves are used. This is especially true when skiing and snowboarding, as a day at the slopes is sure to make your hands numb, with the fingertips experiencing the worst of the worst. Well, fret not as Zanier has released a set of gloves called the Heat-GX gloves, which have an inner mechanism that is specifically targeted at warming those sensitive fingertips.

The Heat-GX gloves offer three distinct temperature settings, which can be changed to your liking. These tree temperatures are 86, 98.6, and 131 degrees. In other words, there is a setting for a small heat flow, a medium one, and finally one that will set your fingertips on fire (figure of speech; they won’t actually set them on fire, but they will warm the hell out of them at 131!). Of course, battery life is an issue, and depending on your setting, the gloves will provide warm for anywhere from 2-10 hours. The batteries are rechargeable, and won’t weigh you down at a mere 4 oz. Price is the biggest problem here, as this product is about $250. Kind of gets your blood boiling in a bad way.

For winter sportsmen, especially skiers and snowboarders, this is an invaluable tool to have on the slopes. The different settings are very convenient, and sure add to the appeal of the product by allowing some customization. It’s the price that is the main villain here. At $250 a pop, this is the rich kid’s toy. Seeing as to how you can probably get a lot of time on the slopes for that money, this is a big investment to make. All but the hardcore will seriously need to consider before buying
