SAKAIDE, Kagawa -- Police have launched an investigation at a facility for people with serious mental and physical disabilities here after 10 plastic gloves were found in the stomach of a patient at the facility.
Under investigation is the Seto Ryogoen facility in Sakaide. Officials said the patient, who is in his 20s, started coughing up blood in July. When he was transferred to a hospital, 10 plastic gloves designed for excretory care were found in his stomach. The man, whose intestine duodenum and stomach were damaged, remains in critical condition. Police said they were investigating the case carefully, considering the possibility that the patient had been physically abused. (Mainichi) |
