Major breakthrough in String Knit Work Gloves PDF Print E-mail
Superior Glove (Canada) has figured out a neat way to manufacture knit gloves that reduces "ride up" and makes for a better fitting, safer knit glove. The technique is similar to non-ambidextrous gloves in the formed glove world. Superior calls this technique THT which is short for True Hand Technology. Superior glove is converting appliciable gloves in their current product line to their THT standard,  I tried a pair of the Wire Core Rhino Gloves with THT and I could really feel the difference!

What exactly is THT?
THT is short for True Hand Technology. THT is a way of making string knit gloves more comfortable. If you’ve worn string knit gloves for any length of time you’ve probably noticed that they have tendency to “ride up”. Especially the baby finger. That’s because on traditional string knit gloves the fingers all start at the same point and are knitted straight across. However, if you look at your own hand you’ll notice your baby finger starts about ½ inch further down than your other fingers. That’s what causes the baby finger to “ride up” on string knit gloves. THT gloves are knitted the way your hand is shaped. With the baby finger about ½ inch lower than your other fingers.

What is the advantage of a THT glove?
The main advantage of THT gloves is they are more comfortable and fit much better than regular string knit gloves. We are not charging anymore for THT, it is just another advantage of making Superior your glove supplier.

How did we do it? It’s a lot harder then it sounds. It took us several years of research to develop the technology. Then we essentially had to redesign and overhaul our knitting machines to be able to produce THT gloves. In the end we feel it has been worth it and we think you’ll also agree. The result is a more comfortable, more dexterous and safer glove.

THT is even more noticeable in heavier gloves, such as Kevlar or coated gloves. The first styles we are switching over to THT are:

  • Kevlar String Knit and Wire Core Rhino Gloves
  • Heavy Weight String Knit Gloves
  • Dexterity Nitrile Gloves
  • 'Action' and 'Sidewall' Leather Palm Gloves
